New Delhi: Chandrababu Naidu has brought the Centre into the fray to help farmers as prices of maize have fallen in AP. Due to the huge fall in prices, farmers are selling at a loss. From now on, the Center will pay the difference between the cultivation cost and the selling cost.

The central government has announced this price under the market intervention scheme. It has allowed the procurement of 2.58 lakh metric tonnes of chilli. These orders will be in force for a month. Recently, CM Chandrababu Naidu wrote a letter to the center regarding the problems of chilli farmers and also spoke to Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. In this context, the center has announced the price of chilli.
